Global Announcements

So what are Global announcements, well with this feature it makes a post appear in each of the areas you have on your forum, like a sticky post that appears In each section for example hello thread and tv thread etc etc.



If you wish to Add Global announcements Then this is HOWTODOIT

When you as admin or mod edit or start a new post you will see next to the sticky and announcement buttons a new global announcement button just click this as you would have done for the stickys before.

It's as simple as that.







Moderator checking IP address

Again if you wish to check a members IP address just find a post they have made and click the icon, again this may vary color and style depending on your forum.

This will bring up the IP address and a list of users that have used that IP address.

Please remember that if it is a guest then guest will have many many different IP address as all the guest that have posted will be displayed here.



Editing a post

To edit a post then look for the  icon this icon may vary in color and style depending on what style you are using.

Now click on the button you can now edit the post.



Deleting a single post


To delete a single post that has been made then you have to be Reading that post now look for the icon normally found on the top right of the post and click the button this will delete only that single post.



Lock a topic

Locking a topic means that only Admin and Moderators can post and reply to that thread.

To do this just click on the lock topic icon found at the bottom of the last post normally looks like this .

By clicking that icon you have now just locked that topic, to unlock just click the icon again to unlock.


Move a Topic

Just click on the move topic icon normally looks like this then you will be asked where you wish to move the topic just use the scroll bar to find the area which you wish it to be moved to.

You will also see a leave shadow thread this will mean that a shadow thread is left in its place and if anyone clicks on it, it will redirect them to where you have moved the topic too.

If you leave a shadow thread then delete the shadow thread you will also delete the original one you have moved, if you do not want to leave a shadow post then just unclick the box.


Delete Topic

Just click on the delete topic icon found at the bottom of the last post normally looks like this now you will be asked to confirm your actions click yes and the WHOLE topic has been deleted.


Split Topic

To split a topic you can simply click on the split icon at the bottom of the last post this normally looks like

If for example someone has posted a reply in the wrong area then you can move it to the right area but you can not merge topics.

Just click on the icon then it bring s up the split topic screen.

First thing you have to do is put a title for the new topic.

Then using the scroll bar decide where you want the split topic to go.

Now just tick the post you want to spilt then click the split selected posts.

And that is it the post will now become their own topic where ever you have sent them.
