April 24, 2008 12:00am

WESTS Tigers chief executive Steve Noyce has today announced his resignation from the club.

Noyce had been with the club since Balmain and Western Suburbs merged for the 2000 NRL season.

Prior to joining the Tigers in 2000, Noyce worked for the Sydney Turf Club from 1996.

He told staff members at Concord of his decision this morning and confirmed it at a media conference just after midday.

"It's been a great privilege to be the CEO of such a brilliant organisation and I consider myself lucky to involved with so many outstanding people,'' Noyce said today.

"We have tremendous stability at Wests Tigers at the moment and I have no doubt the club will grow and achieve much success both on and off he field.''

Noyce will continue in his role for the "next few months'' but denied he already had another position lined up once his Tigers commitments have finished.

Meanwhile Tigers hooker Robbie Farah has not ruled out making a late comeback to play Cronulla at Toyota Stadium on Sunday. Farah has not played since round three of the NRL after aggravating protruding discs in his lower back.

He had been considered no chance at returning against the Sharks, but the key playmaker has undergone a rigourous training regime this week and says if he feels okay on Sunday morning he may attempt to convince coach Tim Sheens to let him play.

Farah's possible return would be another significant boost for the Tigers with five-eighth Benji Marshall slated to play his first game since round one following a knee injury.
