Inspirational forward Nathan Hindmarsh has claimed his 6th Ken Thornett Medal at the Parramatta Eels Presentation Night in Sydney.
The Ken Thornett Medal is voted on by the Parramatta Eels players after each match.
During the 2007 season, Hindmarsh played in 22 matches for Parramatta, as well as 3 State of Origin matches for New South Wales and the ANZAC Test match for Australia. He is a member of the Australian team for next weekends Test Match against New Zealand in Wellington. Hindmarsh played his 200th NRL match for Parramatta in the Round 14 match against the Dragons at Parramatta Stadium.
"It is a great thrill and I'm surprised to be named the winner," Hindmarsh said.
"We had such a good year and there were so many great players week in and week out it is great to get such support from your team-mates," he added.
In a big night for Hindmarsh, he was also named the Members Player of the Year, whilst Luke Burt won the Jack Gibson Coaches Award and the Ron Lynch Media Award. Retiring forward Ian Hindmarsh was a popular choice as the recipient of the Michael Cronin Clubman of the Year Award and Krisnan Inu was presented with the Eric Grothe Rookie of the Year Award.
