Michael Hagan Post Match Media Conference - Round 213 August 2007Q) THAT HAS TO BE ABOUT THE BEST WIN OF THE YEAR? A) I think we backed up really well. We were happy with some parts of our performance against Manly the week before but we thought the bar would rise yet again on a short turnaround. It was a typical Bulldogs Parramatta game - they came at us pretty hard for the full 80 minutes and our boys can be pretty satisfied to withstand that and finish the game off with a good try at the end. Q) PLENTY OF GOOD PERFORMANCES BUT KRIS INU WAS EXCEPTIONAL? A) He has been excellent all year and missed one try tonight that I'm not so sure about but finished with something spectacular. Nathan produced 80 minutes of quality and we are lucky to have him playing as well as he has been and working as hard as he does in games. Q) LAST WEEK YOU SPOKE OF PROBLEMS IN MATCHES AFTER HALF TIME, THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS THERE TONIGHT? A) No, it was a lot better. I think we completed nearly every set in the second half which says a fair bit about the quality of the game and we just changed our rotation a bit with a few of the senior guys. All the players have taken that on board and were just as keen to finish a game off. Q) MICHAEL DOES IT CONCERN YOU AFTER THE MORRIN INCIDENT THAT IT WAS IN FACT THE BULLDOGS THAT GOT A PENALTY? A) Yes. I don't know whether they can change their call, maybe that is something to look at. In every sense it was a harsh penalty against us. Q) I TAKE IT THE CLUB WILL BACK TIMANA IN HIS COMPLAINT? A) I would think that his reaction to it, and he felt pretty strongly about it, as you would do if it happened to you in a game of football which we haven't seen for a long time. Q) MICHAEL OBVIOUSLY GOOD TO WIN TONIGHT AND GET AWAY A LITTLE FROM THE LOG JAM, BUT WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO WORK ON? A) We are in a run of games where we were playing quality teams. The players have had to work really hard - we had a 6 day turnaround last week and a five day turnaround this week. I don't think we can ask for too much more. It was another great game of footy on Friday night. We know we have a few players coming back this week to take some pressure off the other guys, so all in all we are pretty happy with what we have got done in the last 4 weeks and are looking forward to the next month of footy. http://www.parraeels.com.au/news/news1604.asp |
