GEOFF GERARD APPOINTED TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Parramatta District Rugby League Club is pleased to announce that Geoff Gerard has been appointed to its Board of Directors.
Geoff replaces long term director, Peter Miller who has decided to stand down.
Geoff played 139 First Grade matches for Parramatta in his eight years with the Club. He was named the inaugural winner of the Rookie of the Year Award in 1974. In his career, he played 14 matches for Australia including 6 Test matches and three matches for New South Wales including two State of Origin matches. He was made a Life Member of the Parramatta Club in 1999 and played in both the 1976 and 1977 Grand Finals.
In his career with Parramatta, Manly and Penrith, Gerard played 325 First Grade matches, placing him sixth on the all time list.
Geoff is currently the General Manager, Sales and Marketing of WSN Environmental Solutions and has been a New South Wales State of Origin selector since 1998.
Parramatta President Alan Overton said "Geoff is an ideal appointment to the Board combining a wealth of knowledge of Rugby League with commercial management experience at senior executive level."
