Eels fearing Inu loss

PARRAMATTA fear they will have to sacrifice star winger Krisnan Inu to keep their other young star Jarryd Hayne.
In the face of a big-money offer from the Roosters for Inu, Eels coach Michael Hagan conceded it would "be a bonus'' if he could keep both of his young internationals.
The Eels will table an offer to Hayne's manager Wayne Beavis this week, believed to beworth $300,000 a year over two seasons.
"I think keeping Jarryd or Krisnan at the club would be considered a bonus,'' Hagan said.
"We're probably well down the track with Wayne and Jarryd in regards to his future.
"I think we've made it pretty clear that he's (Hayne) one of the priorities that we want to get done.
"But we understand the quality of player that they both are and the market appeal of them also.
We'll be doing everything we can for them to stay ... and then if it doesn't, you've got to live with things after that.
"I can say, it won't be through a lack of trying.''
Only days after signing Willie Mason from the Bulldogs, the cashed-up Roosters have mapped out a plan to bring Inu and Melbourne's Israel Folau to Bondi Junction.
"We're definitely going to need an outside back, no doubt about that, and they're both coming off contract,'' Roosters recruitment manager Peter O'Sullivan said.
"There are going to be 16 clubs going for Israel Folau and Krisnan and we'll definitely be one of them. I'm sure either of these two players would be seen as an another advantage for what we're attempting to achieve here.''
Eels sensation Inu and Storm international Folau are off contract with their respective clubs at the end of 2008.
O'Sullivan has close ties with Folau, delivering the Test star to Melbourne as the Storm's former recruitment ace.
Sources close to Mason revealed club officials used Inu and Folau as a major selling point during negotiations with the Test forward.
"Willie said he wanted to go to a club that would be vying for a premiership in the next three years,'' the source said.
"He was told matter-of-factly that Inu and Folau would be coming to the club at the end of next season.''
The club has up to 12 players coming off contract at the end of next season, including Amos Roberts, Anthony Tupou, Sam Perrett, Craig Fitzgibbon, David Shillington, Lopini and Mickey Paea, Shane Shackleton and Danny Nutley.
Inu is not due back at Parramatta until the first week of December but the Eels have made contact with his manager. The Eels are also said to be interested in luring Bulldogs captain Andrew Ryan back to the club.
